Susan has an infectious joy of life and love of people which shines clearly for all to see whether with her in person or not. In this Spotlight on Susan Scully we are gifted with a deeper insight into the origins of UniMed Brisbane and the woman who followed her heart and love of people to initiate – and with the support of others to bring to fruition - UniMed Brisbane, to make it what it is today – a clinic offering an all round approach to health and well-being. Q1. Susan, your passion and commitment to UniMed Brisbane shines from you. Can you share with us about this journey and how it all began?
I have always had a natural and genuine care of people, however how I had been doing this was at the expense of mine and other’s health and well-being – trying to save the world one-by-one from experiencing misery, despair, unhappiness or angst – taking on other’s suffering rather than understanding what life, people or situations were presenting for each person to learn, deal and heal. It was very taxing on the body to say the least, hence health issues and relationship casualties and living a life where I did not truly know myself. It was only when I met Serge Benhayon – my eyes opened widely and senses came alive suddenly like wakening from a deep slumber. From experiencing what he lives and presents, I was inspired and reminded that there is a different way to love and care for people - one that is not at the expense of one’s health and well-being – hence the impulse and initiation of UniMed Brisbane. There had been nothing I had felt and experienced in this world like the Universal Medicine Clinic in Goonellabah – the love, care and support I’d always imagined or perhaps dreamt of was there in the flesh. I also saw the very obvious and incredible changes people worldwide were also being inspired to make and the astounding and remarkable changes to their lives and those around them could not be denied nor disputed. This is something I wanted everyone to have or at least have the opportunity to experience, so a clinic here in Brisbane became possible with the support of a number of people from many walks of life including those from the health and healing sectors, medical, educational, trades and other professions, individuals, families and households – all with the same purpose. What is offered by these multi-disciplinary clinics is an array of services and products where people are considered and supported with different offerings or ways to support one’s own choice to address and heal what worries, concerns or ails them – whether physically, emotionally, or in everyday life. Having owned, run, managed and partnered in many different businesses and projects, UniMed Brisbane has been by far one of the best investments ever made in every way. From the incredible people I have met along the way, to the enormous personal and professional development, the level of care and support offered and experienced on a whole other level that considers an all-round approach to life; understanding what health and well-being can be, what truly caring for and loving people is about, and being inspired by what an absoluteness and dedication to life’s true purpose can bring and offer us all. It is this renewed sense of responsibility of what truly counts in life - people living their true potential every day – that is at the heart of UniMed Brisbane. |
Q2. As we come to the end of yet another year and you reflect on what has been a full and rewarding year for you, can you share with us a little on how you have lived during this year and what you have put in place to support yourself in all you have done and undertaken?
It is interesting to consider and reflect upon what traditionally a “rewarding and fulfilling” year would have meant to me at certain points in my life and now in this present year. What I once achieved at the expense of my body, relationships and others in my life is a thing of the past. Previously, nowhere in that drive, strive and push to succeed was there a consideration or regard for the state of my body before, during or after the final outcome, goal or target had been reached or exceeded. Along with that, the temporary elatedness, satisfaction or excitement that was masking what my body was really trying to say to me about over-riding and pushing it aside – “Hey remember me?” “I’m exhausted, tired, stressed, overwhelmed” and the ill-consequences of relationships damaged and other casualties along the way. To the best of my ability and with no perfection, my year has been living with a deeper regard for myself. From this practice and foundation of deeper self care and regard for myself this has naturally filtered out to other if not all areas of my life including my personal, professional and business relationships; the quality of how I work and do business and the products and services offered; a greater sense of purpose and confidence; and a greater awareness of the opportunities and potentials that abound or arise. The push, drive and strive is actually the hard work – that heavy weight being lugged around on my shoulders as I try to complete the task at hand. What I am appreciating is that while I can slip back into this pattern at times – it is far less than what it once was. So when I do, I am able to change this immediately, rather than leaving it go unchecked which may eventually result in that health, financial, business and/or relationship crisis. It has been another rewarding and fulfilling year with the constant reminder and inspiration that true healing is key – dealing with and healing unresolved issues or hurts that otherwise would have me walking around as the walking wounded or a victim to life – rather than experiencing the joy life can otherwise be, embracing the many many opportunities that are on offer whether personally, professionally or otherwise. It is understanding and knowing we are forever students of life – that we are sometimes the teacher and sometimes the student – which has also taken off the pressure and expectation of thinking I have to be everything for everybody. Thank God for Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine who constantly remind and inspire me every day what truly matters – WE MATTER… our health and well-being, our relationships with one another and as a world community, and how we are and live life matters. Thank you for and to the people that remind, inspire and support me, UniMed Brisbane and others to be and live their full potential every day also. It is all of this and more that makes this year super and immeasurably rewarding beyond words. Q3. Tell us about some of the things we can expect to see and experience for 2017 and beyond from UniMed Brisbane? Coming into the New Year we have all our current practitioners and services continuing to be offered along with a growing range of magnificent products. There is a commitment to continue establishing and expanding our multi-disciplinary services – welcoming a greater range of services and practitioners to UniMed Brisbane in response to what the community is asking or calling for. We will also be offering more regular community workshops and presentations including topics on anxiety, stress, mental health, health and well-being, money and finance and community information evenings. There are also other proposed events such as the “True Movement In the Park“ and other outdoor events for people to come along to and enjoy also. I’d like to mention that while yes there are proposed projects and expansions underway, we are open and committed to addressing what is being called for by the community – the immediate and long term health, relationship and societal concerns that are devastatingly impacting us in one way or another. This is our key focus stemming from understanding and knowing that while there is one or many people in the world suffering - whether from illness, misery, devastation, given-upness etc – then there is work to be done It is ensuring that we have the flexibility and are on the ready to address such calls as and when it is needed rather than otherwise being held or locked into any set pre-planning. We feel the community offers us much and we are inspired by the healing and life experiences of the people we meet every day. We warmly welcome everyone and look very forward to continuing our support of people everywhere as part of our ever-unfolding healing, development and evolution – together. |
